history lesson

In a few posts, I have mentioned a person by the name of The Artist. This person left me a map to find Silence and so on. Well, Silence figured The Artist was the right person to ask for help. So, after a while of staying in our little hole in the woods, Silence decided it was time to pack up and take a drive. I rented a car and off we went. Silence wanted to explain and show some things to me along the way, so we took what she considered, "the scenic route".

The first thing we came to was an inn. The town we were staying in wasn't too far away from the town I lived in, and I found the inn's sign a bit odd.
Theory was, you could take a train-as this sign clearly showed-between the towns. The town I lived in-as I said in a entry a long time ago-is very, very old. But, like my town, there has never been a train, and there no tracks to even be found here. The inn had apparently been run by her & Jars father, who had apparently been the "leader" of whatever it was they were involved in. As Silence explained it to me, the only way you can become leader is to have it passed down to you by someone who was leader and was related to you. When their father died, it came down to Silence and Jars, and now Jars wanted Silence dead. Jars however was the one claiming Silence was going to do me harm. Here are some more photos of the inn.

Much like the house that I had to pass through to meet Silence, it was very beautiful and well kept. She and her sister apparently spent a lot of time here as kids. After the inn, we continued our drive to meet The Artist. Upon arrival at The Artist's house, Silence wouldn't allow me to go in. Apparently she had to speak to The Artist in private and I would meet The Artist either afterwards or at a later date. I was able to get a shot of the house after she'd gone inside. She left me out there for over an hour.

The thing that still bothered me was that if Silence was so dangerous, why was I still alive? Jars had followed me to meet with her, but she seemed to be after both of us. But, as I'd learn later, Silence really was dangerous, and Jars was really telling the truth.

As the old saying goes, "If I only knew then..."

hiding

Since Silence and I ran, it was a while until I felt safe. She assured me that as long as I stayed with her, nothing would happen, and that I would get answers. And despite all evidence contrary to what I should've done, I listened to Silence, even though Jars had not only told me she was a liar, but even gone so far as to follow me to meeting her and try to kill her.

But we were safe at least. We went off the grid. You'll notice I didn't update at all during the time I was gone. That was because I didn't want Jars or anyone else to follow, since I know she reads this blog. And on top of that, I promised to Silence I wouldn't blog at all anymore, but this blog is all I have to tell you I am safe. Silence doesn't know the URL, and it's safe to say Jars wouldn't give it to her, so I can still update for you guys, so you know what'll happen in case I ever disappear entirely.

We ended up in a very hidden area that Silence had been to before, and knew was safe. She moved around constantly, as she told me, because it was stupid to stay in one place. That's how people get caught. We went to a small store, bought some clothes for our stay and some food, and that was it. We were hidden until we could figure something out.

It was actually pretty hidden, for example, without giving too much away.
It doesn't look like it at first glance, but if you push away the brush, you can actually get much deeper into it and there's a small cave type spot. We didn't say too much to one another, but it was good. I needed time to think. But I realized something during the time I had to think to myself.

Those teeth I dug up. I knew a way to find out if they're Annies. Unfortunately...

it involved grave robbing.

we'll get back to you

It's been a while.

The forests are quiet when I'm in them, so quiet in fact that now whenever I hear a noise or am around any sort of noise in general that it gives me a headache. The silence has become my friend, and yet, my own worst enemy. We have traveled a long way, and by the end of this barrage of updates, you will know what has happened to me over the last 2 weeks. I guarantee most of you won't believe it's true, you'll say "Oh you're making it all up!" but everything I type to you is THE GOD HONEST TRUTH. And I am telling you this because I NEED you to believe me, because one day-soon, possibly-I am going to need your help. Your help to find me if I stop updating. I don't care HOW you find me, I just need you to, or if I am gone, to find whoever has hurt me and bring justice to my life.

My favorite story as a child was Hansel & Gretel. One of the defining things in that story that intrigued me was the fact that though they knew what they were doing was possibly stupid, they still left a trail of breadcrumbs. I am doing the same. I am leaving you these photos. I don't know if you maybe can make something out of the geographical markers in them or what, but you need to pay very close to attention to what I am telling you. This is all very important. This all means something. This could possibly mean whether or not I survive to finish telling you this tale. There's a lot to still go through, but I can't get to it right now. I have to keep on moving; if Silence taught me one thing, it's that staying in one place for too long is risky. They're never that far behind.

Please listen. Please follow my breadcrumbs. And if I need you to, PLEASE SAVE MY LIFE. You are about to hear about the last 2 weeks of my life, and believe me...it doesn't end well.

r.i.p.

Sometimes we walk down some lonely paths. Seemingly unnoticed and unheard. I'm sorry that you felt that way. I wish things had turned out differently.
We don't usually know where we're going to end up in our lives, but nobody should have ended up where you did. I should've done things differently, and now I have to live with the regret. I hope you forgive me, one day.
And that in the end, things don't usually turn out the way we want them to. R.I.P.
This is only the beginning.

update #2

Here's that photoset I promised you guys.
I took this one just for reference. I figured it would be good to have one in the daytime just in case anything happened to me and someone found my camera somehow, they would have a better idea of what the place looked like, since the only image I had of it before was of at night.
Tea parties? I don't know. It appeared to be some sort of country club or something.
Looked like a stage or something in the background. I took further pictures of that.
I just thought the fountain was a nice touch.
Here's a better, closer image of the front.
I think this is the best shot of the place I took.
This is the path that I found behind the house, which you can kind of see in the other pictures. And, I think this is the one that appears on the map Silence and The Artist left me.
Another fountain in the back.
Closer image of the tents.
Now I was sure this was some sort of club or something.
 The map.
The map, opened. That's that path, and at the end of the path is the X. Where I met Silence, which you will see in my next entry. I have to go now. I have some things to be prepared for.

text message

I'm sad to say there wasn't much at the place to investigate. I couldn't get inside, but that didn't stop me from staying there. I just slept in the yard. It made me realize what I'm doing.

I was sleeping outside a place I've never seen, because someone I've never met gave me information about my dead girlfriend.

I think I should say this before any of you guys do, but what the hell is wrong with me? I'm was still having trouble trusting Silence at this point, but a few hours into that next day I certainly wasn't having those feelings anymore. I can say with confidence now that Silence has been helping me from the get-go.

I was going to upload some pics of the place-to show it's age, because it did look pretty old-but my camera is dead. I will post another "update" entry with those photos in a day or so. Sorry guys. But I can tell you that the place WAS old looking. It seemed like it had belonged to a large family at one point, and there were these tents outside held up by poles, so maybe they held weddings or something here at one time or another? Judging by my luck though, it won't be weddings, it'll be funerals or....group rape or something.

I was certainly scared out of my mind, moreso than I think I have ever been in my entire life. I mean, what if Silence was just some creepy, old, fat, balding dude who came out and murdered me? But a few hours into that day, I discovered she wasn't. In fact, she was entirely different than I ever expected her to be...I don't know how she got my phone number, but she texted me and for the first time, gave me something more than a single word command or a poem:

"John, it isn't safe for you to stay outside or anywhere near the house. I am being watched. The Artist left something for you on the table. Please go take it. It's a map. You will find me at the destination designated on the map. I will be waiting for you. Please make sure you're not followed, for your sake and mine. We can't come this far and be compromised. It'll have all been worthless if that happens."

That was it. In that update I mentioned I will post photos of the map too. Who was The Artist? Who cares, I told myself, because I was about to meet Silence, finally, after everything that's happened.

And she was not what I expected.

house

I left very angrily about 8 days ago, on a mission to find Silence and whatever answers she had for me. I followed the tracks, just as she said, and camped on the side by them for the first 2 nights. On the 3rd day, the tracks ended, as if they had stopped being built, and I just followed the path. I found nothing.
I continued hiking, assuming I was just being lied to. I thought about turning back so many times. I'm glad I didn't. On the 4th day, I discovered this in the bushes.
Silence was leading me right to her. This was it. This was what I had been waiting for for so long, was to meet this girl. Know what she knew about me, and about Annie and why she'd chosen me to mess with, and what she knew about Jars. I had so many questions in my head. On the way uphill, I found this, and I took some pics of it because I thought it was a little strange.

It appeared to be some sort of makeshift power line, directing energy/electricity or something somewhere. I had a feeling I was on the right path. Maybe she was holed up in a shack, with a generator or something. Or maybe a tent. I thought that's where she was. Until that 4th night. That's when I came around the bend and I discovered this.

This was NOT what I had been expecting. I had expected a little shack, a tent, or maybe another abandoned home. Not a freaking cottage. This place was MASSIVE. I don't know if anyone else even knows this place exists, but it's enormous, almost like an estate. I was hesitant to even continue forward. I mean, the rational part of my mind finally has kicked in.

What exactly do I hope to find and how do I even know this isn't some huge elaborate ruse? What if there's no Silence or Jars and it's just some insane lunatic waiting to kill me? But...I've come so far...I couldn't just turn away from all the progress that I had made. Upon heading towards the place, I discovered this.
"Wait."

Another order. So I did. I waited and took some pictures of some of the estate that will be uploaded in the next post. But I don't want to keep you in the dark anymore. There's something you should know.

Silence showed up.
And man have I regretted ever going into that house in the first place.

follow

I got this today, not even in an envelope this time. Just sitting on my doorstep under a rock. My camera was dead and charging so I took this with my webcam.

Silence, I don't know what you want at this point. First you tell me to dig, then you tell me to open, and now you tell me to follow. I'm really becoming frustrated at this point, but I've followed your commands so far, and now I'm making one of my own.

Meet with me.

If you meet with me, I will follow you anywhere and follow any of your commands. Just let me see you, once and for all.

And by the way, I'm opening that jar tomorrow. God knows what I'll find.

teeth

Over the last 2 days, I've been digging. I had to do it either at night or early in the morning when nobody was around, but yesterday afternoon everyone on my street had gone to the downtown 4th of july weekend bbq and I realized I had a good patch of daylight to work in. It's hard to dig and hold a flashlight at the same time.

I really didn't think I would find anything. I always think that. I should know better by now. I found something, you guys. Something big. Something that might change this entire thing.

I pulled these out of a hole I dug. It's another polaroid and something else. I didn't even want to know what the container was after receiving that last package, but here we are.

Remember that letter I got? Those weird symbols on the side of the envelope? Someone did some research and informed me that it meant teeth.
That's what's inside this thing. You'll notice the white strip of paper wrapped around it, but don't bother asking about it. There's no identifying information. It'd all been blacked out with marker or something. The teeth was weird, but at least I understand now what Silence had been leading me to. Who's teeth are they? No idea. Maybe she'll tell me but I highly doubt that. She doesn't seem to like to tell me much of anything. And I can't really take them to a dentist or a forensic scientist without it seeming like I murdered someone. I mean, where else would I obtain these teeth? So, I'm stuck. But that isn't what bothered me. The polaroid is what bothered me.
"Open". Another command. This bothers me on a few different levels. First off, the package said "Silence is a liar", which means Silence didn't send the package. So if she didn't send it, how did she take this photo? Secondly, why would she be telling me to open something that apparently neither of us knows what it is. But, her commands led me to this point, and I'm going to just listen to her, frustrating as she is sometimes.

So that's where we are. I'm gonna open that jar. I don't know what I'll find, exactly, but I know it'll lead me somewhere else.

Silence, if you're somehow reading this, I hope you know what you're doing...

symbols

I totally forgot about this when I made that last post but I also found this on a tree near the fence. Not sure if it's anything or what, but it looks kind of like the one I got on the envelope.

If anyone knows or can figure out (as you've probably discovered by this point, I'm not too good on internet research) what the hell this thing could possibly be, let me know in the comments. Thanks.

fence & choker

I just got back about 15 minutes ago. I had to warm myself up, it's freezing outside. The area behind the "house" (in quotations because it no longer exists) is pretty woodsy and such. Lots of plant life. I had to wait until it was dark enough to where I wouldn't be noticed, because the neighbors on the other side of the fence have kids, and I would've just looked creepy. There actually isn't much back there, aside from the end of the fence itself, but I did find this on the fence. Looks spray painted.

Not sure who Cocoa is, considering nobody ever lived in that house. Maybe it's from a long time ago or something. Might be like, a pets grave. Could be nothing, honestly. Still unsettling, especially in the dark. And I would've walked away except that found this right underneath the message.

It looks like a choker, I guess. I'm not very good with jewelry. Looks as if it was left deliberately beside the fence, so it probably doesn't mean anything. I'm probably reading too much into these things now, being all paranoid and such. It probably honestly IS just kids messing with me. I'm going to feel really stupid when I discover it's all a prank or something. Also, someone in the comments found out that the weird "h" symbol from the envelope was the symbol for "Teeth". Not sure what kind of weird, cryptic message THAT'S supposed to be, but...yeah.

Will update if I find anything else, but as it stands right now, I'm feeling kind of stupid for even posting this online.

exploration

I've decided that I'm going to go exploring tonight, behind the house...or, the remains of it. I'm not sure if or when they're ever going to build something there, so if they are, I should take advantage of the time I have to see what I can find. I'll let you know what happens or what I find. If I don't update again, I've either given up, or...been abducted by aliens or something. I have no idea.

We'll see what happens.

not much to discuss

I went there  tonight and took some photos. There wasn't much inside, just the usual stuff people leave behind. Stove. Wallpaper.
This is the house. There's no glass (it was probably broken by homeless people so they could sleep there) in the windows, so it was relatively simple to get in, because the door was locked. It's a pretty spooky place.
This is the window I started through. I think that's a heater or something, I'm not really sure. I just remember my grandparents having something similar when I was a kid. There wasn't much inside sadly. At least, nothing of interest worth reporting here. I guess I was wrong about it being spooky.
I think it's infested too. I think there's a family of raccoons or something living underneath it. Maybe I'll document that instead.
